I Started Questioning, Then Stopped

I was driving home, it was her birthday, I had to work late and felt bad. I was wondering how she would feel about it all. What can I do to make her smile? Why does it always have to work out like this? Then I reflected on how we met. Who would have thought, a group dinner, people I had never met, joining in to explore life, and then catching each other's gaze! Then standing in line waiting to eat, close to one another and knowing we would have to meet again. Then there was the first date, the conversation, and her story telling captivating me, so I would long for more. And it came, her cheery smile and people skills matched to my sense of logic and eye for details. She possessed an insight into people that filled the void of my analytic nature. Yet the softness of her touch and caring when she was close could melt any man's heart. There were no more questions, for she had chosen my heart.
