Mankind
As we look out the windows of our high-rise buildings in our ever
-expanding cities we are awed by the view. The sight of vast
structureslooming everywhere, dwarfing what remains of nature. The skylinesfill
with our manufactured monuments of accomplishment. All thatremains of nature is
the air, a few trees and an occasional bird. Nowait, looking down we see people
. How small they appear, how timid, howinsignificant. But then we reflect and
remember that the minds, the visions, the efforts of these dedicated souls
created all that we view. Ourfocus must realign from these things in our
physical sight, to the thingsin the mind’s eye. For it is this spirit of
mankind, the unrelentingcommitment, the never-ending perseverance that enables
thesephysical monuments to exist. It is this extraordinary spirit, when properly
focused, renews the possibilities of the future. It is this ame spirit that
when recklessly released can devastate the world. It is the free choice of this
spirit that defies destiny and casts the events of tomorrow. Choose well.
