Fear

Do you recall the first time you drove off in a car alone and were responsible for making it to your destination and back without incident? Do you remember a first encounter with love or marriage, and wondering how it would turn out? Perhaps it was that new job or buying a home or simply walking a dark street alone that was accompanied by an uneasy feeling. The feeling of course, was FEAR. Perhaps the tightness in the pit of your stomach, or sweating of your palms or a tension in your neck or chest made a lasting impression. These physical manifestations demonstrate the power of this emotion. Most often these moments require us to make decisions about things. These are decisions, which are often difficult to make dealing with morality or our personal well being. The fear is really just the unknown portion of the equation. In particular the idea that there is a choice to be made, with multiple outcomes, of which some are less desirable. The emotion is based largely on not wanting a specific outcome to occur. Recall the powerful feelings aligned with this emotion and image for a moment that we could harness that power. Now focus not on the detrimental outcome but on the desired result. Focus that power on the positive nature of the preferred outcome. Relate the benefits of the desired outcome to yourself and others. Believe in the possibilities and opportunities provided by the desired outcome. Much of or realities are perceptions. If we alter our perceptions we therefore alter or reality making our dreams come true. As Elit a Darby once said; “Beware of your expectations for they have become your reality”. Take the energy of the fear you encounter and transform it into the optimism of success and continue your journey. We are the masters of nothing but ourselves; therefore we must direct what we can master.
